The "I Have A Dream" Foundation works to ensure that all children have the opportunity to pursue higher education by providing children in low-income communities with guaranteed tuition support and equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and habits they need to gain entry to higher education and succeed in college and beyond. The programmatic model incorporates sponsorship of entire grade-levels of 50-100 students in low-income schools, who are then receive supports from elementary school through high-school. After graduation, students receive tuition assistance for college.
"I Have a Dream" participants demonstrated higher graduation rates, and better grades and attendance compared to their peers not participating in the program.
I Have a Dream: The Impacts: A research summary sponsored by the developer based on 8 I Have a Dream studies and evaluations shows an increase in grades, standardized test scores, and graduation rates, and reduction in high school dropout rates of I Have a Dream participants compared to their peers. The program may also have increased high school attendance and college enrollment.
