Long Beach Education Partnership

Regional Effort

Originally formed in 1994, the Long Beach Education Partnership is comprised of Long Beach’s K-12, community college, and four year education systems. At the urging of prominent business leaders in the Long Beach community, education leaders worked with other local, state, and national partners to develop a seamless (preK-16) education system in Long Beach to prepare all students for success in college and work without need for remediation.

To better understand what makes these collaborations successful, and to support its members in leading similar efforts, the Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF) performed a case study of the Long Beach Seamless Education Partnership that identified key elements to their success to act as a model for communities seeking to undertake a similar effort.
